Students must have a minimum knowledge about environment art and video sound design.
🧠 Course Objectives
The course is focused on:
- Understanding the production pipeline for character, creature and environment design.
- Understanding the various applications of character, creature and environment design in the various fields of digital content.
- Analyzing the relationship between visual styles and the genres of video games.
- Defining the importance of optimization and its impact on character, creature and environment design
- Defining, identifying and exploring the importance of narrative in the process of character, creature and environment design.
- Understanding the importance of research, reference and life study for character, creature and environment design.
- Understanding the challenges of creating characters and environments for different platforms and engines.
- Exploring the creative possibilities of procedurally generated and random generated characters and environments.
- Exploring the creative possibilities of procedurally generated and random generated characters and environments.
- The course aims to familiarize students with the main means of sound production in video games in the academic (UNATC) and professional system.
- Ability to follow a production sound pipeline and workflow for a video game.
- Ability to collaborate in a team with colleagues and professionals in the field of cinematography and media.
