📜 Course Description

This course aims at guiding the students through spatial design concepts, based on revealing a wide array of stylistic and compositional challenges. The focus in on identifying and examining design ideas through research of visual material. It will explore physical and virtual spaces and their manifestations, their relationships to individuals, objects, and different entities; the philosophy and thinking behind designing a space.

We will focus on space, the relationship between the body and space, form and structure, and also on the objects present in a certain space. The student develops their ability to identify and improve existing spaces and work with new spaces—meaning that the relationships between body, object, and space are renegotiated and that questions are posed as to how these new relationships change conditions for individual, group, and the purpose of an artistic performance.
